Liquitone now has a Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/LiquitoneAudioElectronics/
It has an easy overview of my current projects and products.
Here I sometimes post updates that don't make it to my blog, and might be an easier way to communicate than with my Blog.
I am currently in the process of turning this hobby into an official bussiness,
While I'm concentrating on this I will have less time for my projects than I had,
but once it's done I will be able to build a whole bunch of pedals.
I will keep you posted.
Greetings, Liquitone.

Stereo Liquivibe Demo Oct 23rd 2012
Today I tried making a video-demo to post on youtube, but I couldn't manage to import the recording into Adobe Audition for editing. I'll have to figure all that stuff out sometime.
I did however end up with some better audio-recordings of the Stereo Liquivibe so I decided to post those anyway.
you'll just have to imagine me rocking my foot on the threadle and see the blinking-rate of the LED change along with the effect's speed. :)

First Stereo Liquivibe Sound-tests
Today I've been testing out the Stereo Liquivibe and decided I might as well record some quick sound-samples.
There is a lot of noise in the recordings but chose not to filter out the 60hz hum cause that would also filter out the Vibe's characteristic low end .
These samples are in chorus mode only.
I'm not going to apologize for playing Hendrix songs for this test, it's just impossible not to with this type of effect :)
Projects Update October 2012
|
I replaced the treadle with the the chrome one from my Vox-Wah I bought way back in '94 because, well it's obvious isn't it? it wayyyy prettier than the boring black dunlop one.

Discrete IC's,Vibes and Prototyping
Lately a lot of different idea's from the past year or so are starting to come together.
I have build a prototype system thats a lot of fun to play around with.
basically I was annoyed at this maze on my breadboard while trying to build a Uni-Vibe,
I decided it would be easier to chop the thing up into te different stages and make them modular so I can move around entire stages in one move, instead of having to move around every singe part.

My love is gone - Rehearsal September 06 2012
My love is gone - Rehearsal September 06 2012
This is how the tremolo sounds in a band-setting on a subtle setting (Freq on about 3 o'clock, Glow on 1 O'clock) signal path; Squier classic vibe '60 strat - Liquitone germanium treble booster - Liquitone octave fuzz - Liquitone tremolo - Carl Martin red repeat delay - Liquitone build Plexi-Drive - 100w 1971 Fane amp. all pedals are on all the time except for the octave fuzz which is only on during the bridge, and the tremolo which is off only during the bridge.

Tremolo demo
Demo of the Liquitone Tremolo with Glow at 3 o'clock and Freq at 4 o'clock while playing Subterranean Homesick Alien by Radiohead.
In this demo you can clearly hear the oscillator's waveform sits somewhere between a sine- and a square wave on this high depth setting.
If you lower the Glow knob, the wave evens out to more like a sine-like wave along with the lower intensity. This happens aswell with lowering the Freq knob
This is the 24 volts version of the tremolo.

Liquitone 'Standard' Tremolo
First product; Liquitone Tremolo.
This is a very simple tremolo but what it does it does very well.
The LFO and Audio path are completely seperated using a lightbulb and a photocel.
great care is taken in routing, filtering and isolation of the power and LFO section so no unwanted hum or tics gets into your audio-chain.
The Audio-section is a discrete transitorized class-A design, working on 24 volts, to give you a very clear and open sound with lots of headroom. the Audio and LFO section is designed around the building-blocks of the Uni-Vibe.
This Pedal has only 2 knobs, Glow (which controls the brightness of the lightbulb, thus controlling the depth of the effect.) and Freq (which controls the speed of the tremolo effect.)
all is built on a turrent style board which is secured on metal standoffs.
sound-samples coming soon.
the price of the pedal is 200 euro's. excl shipping. You can order or get information by contacting me by email.
